There are several factors that cause double chin, one of the most important of which is obesity and weight gain. As the body ages, the skin loses its elasticity and also reduces the strength and volume of the platysma muscle, which is located under the jaw to the end of the neck, and this causes the skin to fall under the neck and cause wrinkles.

 

Also, when the muscles of the body become weak for any reason, this issue also includes the muscles of the face and neck, and it does not have to be old or severely overweight. Therefore, chin may also be seen in people who are not very obese and young.

 

Hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, lack of protein in the diet and in general malnutrition and inactivity can all weaken the muscles of the body, including the platysma muscle.

 

 

 

How to treat double chin:

 

One of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent and even treat chin is to strengthen the muscles of the face and neck, which I will write to you below the exercises related to strengthening these muscles:

 

1. Mouth exercise: Sit on a chair so that your back and neck are perfectly flat, open your mouth wide and your tongue out as far as you can and try to touch your chin with the tip of your tongue, stay in this position for 10 seconds. Do this move 10 times. By doing this movement, you should feel some pressure in the muscles of your chin and neck.

 

2. Neck exercise: Lie on the bed so that your face is facing the ceiling, then keep your neck hanging from the bottom of the bed, your neck should be in line with your body, in this position stay for 15 to 20 seconds and do this movement 10 times. Do it.

 

 

 

3. Chin exercise: Sit on the chair again in the previous position, bring your lips to the kissing and bud position and stay in this position for 15 seconds, repeat this exercise 10 times.

 

4. Strengthen the platysma muscle: As you sit in a chair with your back and neck straight, place your lower lip completely on your upper lip (in a relaxed position) and stay in this position for 30 seconds and do this exercise 10 times. This exercise strengthens exactly the part of the platysma muscle whose loosening causes chin.

 

Note: There are other exercises to strengthen the neck muscles, doing them is not prohibited for men, but I advise women not to do other movements because they will probably strengthen and grow the neck muscles and create a masculine form.

 

Do these exercises every day for 2 months and then 3 to 4 times a week.

 

In cases where the elderly or the skin is very sagging, it is obvious that exercise alone will not be effective and may require surgery and cosmetic surgery.

 

In addition, for better results, in addition to performing these exercises, you can use neck creams and appropriate nutritional supplements under the supervision of a specialist doctor.
